Meet Jens Edman, Business Line Director, Automotive Lubricants, Scandinavia. In his role, Jens leads the Scandinavian sales team and manages Telko’s relationship with Castrol.
What is the best part of your role?
No one day is the same. I act as a link between Castrol and our salespeople, so they can do their job as well as possible and deliver the best Castrol has to offer to the market. But it’s not only sales I work with, I get to be involved daily with many experts – supply chain is a big part, because they put the orders in, and obviously customer service is hugely important.
When you say Telko is a Castrol ambassador, what do you mean?
The cooperation between Castrol, a global producer of high-performance lubricants and Telko is a lot deeper than a traditional supplier-distributor relationship. Being a Castrol ambassador means that we operate as Castrol’s extended arm to the market. Telko supports Castrol’s customers by delivering products, technical support, as well as day-to-day contact. We have profound experience and knowledge not only about the product, but also long-reaching relationships with the people behind Castrol lubricants. Many are old colleagues and have worked for Castrol before, myself included. We are in contact daily and can essentially work as one team and share the success.
How does Telko cultivate strong partnerships with its customers?
Castrol of course has a global impact. Telko is a well-known distributor of automotive lubricants in the Nordics and Baltics with specialised market knowledge. That is a huge benefit for Castrol that Telko can represent its brand in the market.
The Telko Effect is Telko’s value proposition. What is your Telko Effect?
The success of the end-user is our main priority, and if we can make their life easier with the right products or correct training, the effects trickle from sales to supplier and everyone in between. Both are strong brands who find the partnership equally important. This is my Telko Effect.
Why do you enjoy working at Telko?
Telko is a big company but a relatively flat organization, where many areas of expertise and opportunities meet. You feel proud to wear Telko logo on your jacket and I value the personal connections I have to my coworkers and partners on Castrol’s side, so I always know who to turn to.
