Lowering carbon intensity

We are dedicated to actively contributing to the fight against global warming and have raised our ambitions for reducing carbon emissions. Our goal is to achieve the following targets:

  1. Reduce CO2 emissions in Telko transports (Scope 3) by following our roadmap and KPIs.
    • Develop a model to calculate emissions for all inbound and outbound transport by 2024.
    • Continuous improvement in emission measurement coverage.
    • Begin analysing and optimizing routing and warehouse locations.
  2. Complete the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventory for our operations by the end of 2024.
  3. Map availability and start collecting product-specific CO2 footprint data from our value chain by 2024.
    • Set future targets for collecting CO2 footprint data.
    • Build a system to collect and report product-specific CO2 emissions by the end of 2024.
  4. Commit to Science Based Targets (SBTi) by the end of 2024.
    • Define future goals during 2025-2026 for CO2 footprint reduction according to the SBTi requirements.

Improving recycling and waste management

Due to the nature of our operations, the total amount of waste we generate is relatively low. However, we continuously monitor product waste and actively work to keep it minimal through several initiatives, such as optimizing purchasing processes and finding alternative uses for second-grade products, rather than sending them to waste management companies. To further reduce waste across the value chain, we incorporate partially recycled materials in the packaging for products we handle ourselves. We are also committed to sourcing recycled raw materials for our customers, offering sustainable alternatives to virgin materials. Sales of these materials contribute to reducing CO2 emissions within the value chain.

Our specific targets in this area include:

  • Minimizing the waste generated by our operations
  • Identifying alternative uses for second-grade materials to avoid disposal
  • Using recycled packaging materials wherever possible, without compromising safety or quality

Driving sustainable innovations

To drive positive environmental impact, we are committed to identifying and promoting products and projects that contribute to reducing carbon emissions in the value chain and enhancing our CO2 handprint. Our focus is on measurable progress towards sustainability in our operations.

Our targets are:

  • To recognize the products affecting positively in the CO2 handprint.
  • Actively identify and promote products and projects that positively impact our CO2 handprint.

We will start measuring:

  • The percentage of sales from products that reduce CO2 emissions within the value chain.
  • The percentage of projects with a positive impact on our CO2 handprint, relative to all sales projects.
